Suggestions... (Yorktaylors)

for keeping an eye on things -> for keeping such a close eye on things (veiller au grain: look out for squalls/be on one's guard, so has a stronger, protective implication I think)

neutral stocks - I usually translate "valeurs" as shares and "actions/stocks" as stocks for consistency. But I think the terms are pretty interchangeable and stocks probably fits better here.

I will remind you, which -> I will remind you of something that?

flamboyant characters -> fiery letters?

between your most striking memories -> among your keenest memories?

stocks (x2) - see above

the sale of which has to reimburse -> the sale of which must be sufficient to reimburse?

except the aforementioned - excluding the aforementioned?

handover -> hand over

Egyptian stocks -> Egyptian securites ("titres" - to differentiate from "valeurs")

for no longer paying -> so as not to pay

"agios/overdraft charges" -> bank charges?

God these things are put in gallant terms - Good Lord, in what gallant terms these things are phrased (from an English translation of Le Misanthrope with slight changes)

Do not take pains to respond to me in that regard -> Don't trouble yourself replying to all this

Crédit Foncier Egyptians -> Crédit Foncier Égyptien - Better to leave this untranslated since it's the name of the company, even though elsewhere "mes Égyptiens" has been translated as "my Egyptians" which I think is fine.

you have not responded to me -> don't reply to me

to accept this substitution -> to get this substitution accepted?

without implicating the Director of the Agency -> without calling the Director of the Agency into question?

All the time I wanted you to -> When the opportunity arises I would like you to (conditional tense)

pay dividends -> earn dividends

the Presse -> La Presse (presumably the name of the newspaper so don't translate)

end of the year -> end of the month

Leon's -> Léon's

A thousand grateful affections -> With much affectionate gratitude?

And don't forget to include contributors' names.
