Cher Monsieur,
« Il m’a comblé de biens, il m’en veut accabler[2] ».
Vraiment je ne m’attendais pas à ce certificat[3]. Oui je voudrais bien le garder toujours en souvenir[4]. Mais en tous cas la charmante carte — charmante de bonté et de style — sera précieusement conservée[5]. En tous cas rien ne pressait pour ce certificat. Mais « qui cito dat, bis dat », disaient les Romains. En étant si vite généreux, vous l’avez été deux fois[6]. Et moi je suis doublement reconnaissant.
